Trevor Cullen is Adjunct Professor of Journalism at Edith Cowan University. His academic career spans more than 20 years in five countries - Malawi, UK, China, Papua New Guinea and Australia. Trevor Is recognised as a national and international leader in  the field of HIV journalism and Journalism education.

He has received several university and national awards for teaching including a National Teaching Fellowship (NFT) and the Australian Award for University Teaching (AAUT). He is author of more than 50 peer-reviewed conference papers, journal articles and book chapters. Trevor is a life member JERAA and Chair for the 2025 World Journalism Education Congress in Perth.
